Having a Facebook Welcome Tab has become a great way to maximise your FB real estate you are able to show all new likers just who you are and it holds a lot more information than your Profile Panel which also needs to ba maxmised to your businesses best advantage.
Welcome Tabs can be a lot easier to create than you might think:
The simplest way is to create an image 520px wide that has your logo, your pic and some information about your business and to pop some code into the FBML APP on your page. All you need for this method is a little skill with images or to hire someone who is and follow these steps:
#1
- Find somewhere to host your image online, it could be on your site or on a photosharing site like Photobucket (my fav) where once you have uploaded your image it will automatically create the code ready to place into the FMBL App for you.
- Once you have your image hosted you will need to copy and paste the <ahref…/a> code onto a blank Notepad page on your computer ready to paste it into the FMBL App on FB.
- Next go to Facebook and search for Static FBML App in the search bar.

- Once you have found it click on Add to my page

and choose which page you want to add it to (if you have more than one) - Next go back to your FB Page and click on Edit page under your profile picture to access your dashboard and find the new App called Static FBML

- Click on Go to application and Fill in the header and place your code into the box below the header and th
en click Save. - Next go back to your dashboard and access the Applications area go back to your FBML app and click on Settings and set a Tab for your brand new Welcome Tab.
- Now go back to View Page and if your Welcome Tab is not yet visible click on the + sign at the right of your tabs to find it and choose it.
Note: you are only allowed 6 Tabs on your page so click one of them off if necessary by going to that tab and hovering your cursor over the righthand side of the tab to see a small edit sign – it looks like a pencil and click on it to remove tab. - TaDa!! You now have a beautiful Welcome Tab for your FB Page!

If you would like the option to create a much more interactive professional Welcome Page for your Facebook Profile like mine (this is the simplest version right now and I will be adding a brand new one in the new year with video etc..) with video, optin form and more tabs, just like having a mini website on Facebook.
This is how I do it:
- Go to FanPageEngine and purchase on of their packages
- Use the easy “fill in the form ” style template to create your new Welcome Tab from your choice of template adding your colours, headers, logos, words, optin form, video etc..
- Save it and copy the code to an empty Notepage page on your computer for safe keeping and then follow all the other steps from Step 3 onward above to create your interactive Welcome page.

Many businesses now rely on Facebook pages as a primary business channel.
As a part-time freelance, I’ve had a countless number of fan page projects sent to me.
I do not consider myself an amatuer in the realm of programming, but, still, I find these jobs a daunting task.
At times, the unpredictability nature of the final output (when viewed on different browsers) haunts me in my sleep… ummm … ok, I admit… not as much as images of my ex, but still.
It’s beyond one’s comprehension how many startup’s are looking to have their pages up everyday.
I’ve seen apps that allow users to build pages by asking them to select page contents from a list of available few features, but that means you’re restrained to a limited number of options.
I’m not even remotely close to being a world-renowned computer scientist, nor am I Richie Rich, but I still want to dedicate myself to doing something for others. And, that is The Rise of the Empire, oh… umm… I meant this site http://www.propplan.com/#!/propplan/home/Facebook-Fan-Page
Now, you can stop worrying about the escrow amount or the total cost of your page. Propplan invites you to create page tabs for free.
Design your page on Propplan and have it published as a tab on your fan page immediately.
To maximize consumer engagement, all elements placed on your page can be assigned a redirect link and animation.
Have fun!!!
